I don’t wanna take more medicine,

But there’s this dull pounding in my head

that roars every so often,

erupting again and again

I went to bed early last night,

I’ve been eating fairly well

For once, I am hydrated but there it is;

A constant pulse

matching the ugly thing beating in my chest
