Standing in the cold
Stuck waiting with strangers
I took a look at where I was
I decided to notice where we were
What I saw was as follows:
An empty street
A crossroads
Brick houses with their lights out
Streetlights
Fallen leaves
Sleeping stars
Planets hanging
I pointed this out to the boy right next to me
Who smiled gently and reached up to trace the constellations he said he had never seen
And whose eyes filled with wonder as he realised his surroundings
