Every summer happens the same
It starts with a boy and knowing their name
It turns into them asking about my day
We have a goodbye in early June
Then stay in touch the whole month
July rolls in and we still talk
About family and poetry
And funny things we have found
It feels so good to have someone to share stuff with
August comes around, we make the most of each other while we can

Once it hits and school starts,
Everything changes
