If Palestine is so precious

then why does no one condemn the colonists?

Can it all be linked to unjust politics?

I am part Palestinian

When I was younger,

I had no idea what that meant

What it should mean

is culture, identity

A person from a place

touching the Dead Sea

Instead, people look at me and think

of the history they pretend to know

They think of the terrorists 

that they’ve seen on TV
